Nexus Square is looking for a Staff Accountant with an entrepreneurial mindset. This position will provide outsourced accounting and administrative support internally and to our clients. We are looking for someone who is available to work 20-40 hour a week, primarily in our Fullerton location but with periodic on-site client work. This is a great opportunity to work with exciting companies, and have a solid support network of financial professionals to help you grow. This may be a great opportunity for someone beginning their career in accounting field to work with a team of strong accountants to develop and learn the skills of the profession. We're also open to candidates with some experience, looking for a new set of challenges.

  • Reconciles bank and credit card accounts

  • Codes all transactions by name and account

  • Manages accounts receivables and accounts payables

  • Maintains historical records by filing documents electronically

  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends as requested

  • Monthly financial statements and management reports

  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for income and expenses

  • Performs ad-hoc assignments as requested

  • Miscellaneous local and state tax compliance




  • 0 -2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting

  • Experience working with QuickBooks Online and Xero accounting software is preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and word

  • Experience interacting with senior-level management is highly desirable

  • Strong preference for tech and start-up experience

  • Self-directed and able to work independently

  • Prompt and proactive communication with external clients and internal colleagues

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
